AAAHC Accreditation

Redlands Mesa Surgery Center (RMSC), a component of Colorado Injury and Pain Specialists, is proud to be the only pain management specific ambulatory surgery center on the Western Slope to receive the prestigious AAAHC accreditation, a designation as one of America's most elite ambulatory health care providers. The AAAHC certificate of accreditation is a sign that a health care organization meets or exceeds all nationally-recognized standards for ambulatory surgery and outpatient care.

RMSC underwent extensive review and survey from the AAAHC governing body, evaluating our quality of care, ability to provide for patient safety, and the training and preparedness of the RMSC staff. Colorado Injury and Pain Specialist surgical center was rated excellent in all categories of patient safety and quality of care, based on national standards for ambulatory surgery centers.  RMSC also earned Medicare “deemed status” and achieved a three year accreditation – the longest period that can be awarded by AAAHC and Medicare.

AAAHC has been evaluating and accrediting healthcare facilities across the country since 1979, and is one of the few organizations capable of granting an ambulatory facility its Medicare deemed status. Though a voluntary program for ambulatory surgery centers, AAAHC accreditation represents a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a state of the art facility that exceeds the industry standards for safety and quality. Patients should have as much confidence in their facility as they do in their physician, especially when performing delicate outpatient procedures.

AAAHC certification tells patients that the faculty they are in is one of the premier healthcare facilities in the nation. Facilities are required to have continual surveys and must regularly submit their improvements and efforts to remain current with evolving standards for care and patient safety. You can be sure that any facility with the accreditation will provide excellent care every time you visit.
